Hi everyone! I know it’s been a long while and I think I’ve said before that I’m no longer trying to post regularly but today I just have to share this recent exciting purchase! It’s the holiday season and lots of brands are doing their holiday sets which usually is a great deal. One of the more affordable ones are this Tarte Lips for Daze Lipsurgence Set. It retails for $34 with $120 value (or in my case I bought it for IDR 568.000 while one of the regular Lipsurgence is around IDR 350.000). If you do the math, it’s only about IDR 118.000 per lipstick!
As crazy as I am about lipstick, I was never going to buy five in one occasion, so I decided to ask 4 of my friends to buy it together. It took about an hour but I finally gathered 4 friends who would love to have 1 color from the set. This set contains 5 shades, in which 3 are matte (the ones with the patterned cap). I chose the shade Praise because it’s described as “marsala” and I don’t think I have any marsala colored lipstick. I also noticed that among my friends, Craze is the most liked color. No wonder though, it’s such a nice MLBB shade.
From the swatches above you can see that Haze is a light peachy pink nude. It’s quite sheer I must say. I have to swipe a few times to get that color to show up on the swatch. Some people may think that it has crappy pigmentation, but for me a sheer light nude might be better because it can show a bit of your natural lip color through so that it doesn’t look too nude or dead. This is quite a lovely color when worn on the lips. Oh and, my sister tested it out and it wore for quite a while. She even ate when she wear it and it wasn’t completely gone after the meal!
Next one is Craze which is also quite sheer. It’s a very nice color though. I would say it’s a medium peachy pink with warm undertone. This is my cousin’s though so I only tried it a bit on my lips and didn’t really tested how it wore.
Next is Emblaze which is the darkest color in the range. It’s a pretty dark, berry toned red that I personally think easier to wear than a full on red. It’s also quite sheer, which again I would think is a good thing because you have the option to build the color to suit your liking. This one is my friend’s and so I didn’t really tested it, but she thought it’s a pretty color.
The last two on the bottom is not matte but I have to say both have better pigmentation (not as sheer) as the matte ones. Both color look quite similar, but Glaze is more red while Praise is more plum. Praise is quite dark and it’s more pigmented.
Overall, I think the set is a very good deal. But most of the colors are quite sheer, so if that’s not your cup of tea, then maybe you should skip this set. Hope you enjoy the post and see you later!
